I support Free2B, a London-based community interest company supporting LGBTQ+ young people and their families. I serve as a Non-Executive Director and Treasurer.
Free2B runs youth groups and family support programmes for LGBTQ+ young people and the people around them.
Their work focuses on creating safe spaces where young people can be themselves, build confidence, and connect with others who understand their experiences.
Alongside youth groups, Free2B also works with parents, carers, schools, community organisations and businesses to improve understanding and inclusion. Much of their impact comes from helping families and institutions support young people more effectively.
As Treasurer and a Non-Executive Director, I help the board and leadership team make sure the organisation is financially well-run and sustainable. That includes:
• overseeing financial reporting and governance
• helping the organisation plan and manage budgets
• supporting decisions about growth and funding
• making sure the financial side of the organisation stays stable as the programmes expand
I support the team from behind the scenes to help keep governance and finances in good shape, so the team can focus their time and energy on the work that helps young people.
